But according to Heughan and Balfe, they had to remake a spicy scene because “it wasn’t sexy enough.”

It has been a year and a half since the foreigner fans saw new episodes of the time-traveling drama. Season 5 ended in May 2020 and the pandemic struck before they had a chance to start filming Season 6.

Filming was delayed until January 2021 and continued until June. The cast and crew only shot eight episodes in order to get season 6 on Starz as quickly as possible. But Heughan has promised that these few episodes will have longer air durations. So fans will always have a lot of storytelling and character development.

Executive producer Ronald D. Moore promised fans during filming last summer that the foreigner season 6 will air in “early 2022”.

Fans of Diana Gabaldon the foreigner the series of books may recall a naughty scene from the fourth volume – Autumn drums – which featured Claire and Jamie doing it near a river. The Starz series brought this scene to life in the Season 4 premiere of the foreigner. But, filming the scene was not so romantic.

According to Express, Balfe and Heughan had to shoot the scene next to a river in Scotland in November in freezing weather conditions. They were both fully dressed while filming the scene because it was very cold. But when the producers looked at the footage, they decided the scene needed to be shot again.

Heughan and Balfe explained that they tried to make the scene as sexy as possible under the conditions they were in. But it just didn’t work.

“There’s a nookie scene where when we were shooting her she [was] so cold, “Heughan explained, with Balfe adding,” We actually went back because there’s a scene in episode one that we shot in November when it was freezing cold. “

The Irish beauty continued, “We were fully clothed and tried to make it as sexy as possible – and I think they decided that wasn’t sexy enough.”

They ended up waiting until the end of the season to re-film the infamous scene from the Season 4 premiere. At that time, the temperatures in Scotland were a little warmer. But they were still spinning in the middle of the night.

“It’s still dark and we were doing it at 3 am. So you can do something a little more naked at that point, but you’re still dealing with the elements, ”Balfe explained.

Outlander Season 7 Production To Begin Soon

Because season 6 of the foreigner was reduced to eight episodes, Moore promised that Season 7 would be oversized and would have 16 episodes. This will make Season 7 the longest season of the foreigner since season 1.

Filming is scheduled to begin in early 2022, around the same time as the Season 6 premiere on Starz. With so many episodes in Season 7, production will take almost the entire year. That means Season 7 will air in early 2023. But Droughtlander won’t be as long as the current one.

Season 6 of the foreigner is slated to air on Starz in February 2022. Seasons 1-5 are available on the Starz app and Amazon Prime Video.
